About Me
My name is Ryan England and I am in my final year of a BSc in Human Ecology, majoring in Clothing, Textiles, and Material Culture. This eportfolio contains my mission statement, my philosophy of practice, a collection of relevant work, as well as my résumé. Within the collection of relevant work, categories are organized through key skills and knowledge, where artefacts within these categories are organized by date in order to show progress and growth, as well as offer meaningful reflection.
Mission Statement
As a Human Ecology student within the sector of Clothing, Textiles, and Material Culture, my mission is to continuously reflect on how clothing and material culture shape our experiences and identities. Through analysis and engagement primarily through textiles, as well as through other mediums, my aim is to create sustainable clothing that explores ideas of reuse, repair, and the concept of slow fashion in order to help individuals foster identity and well-being through garments that are uniquely their own, made through sustainable practices that support human beings and the environment.
